Match made in teacher heaven

Courtney Green, daughter of Bob and Cassy Green, of Palm Coast, and Blake VandeBunte, son of Lee and Nancy VandeBunte, of Alto, Mich., are engaged.

The two met while teaching in Connecticut. Now, Green teaches at Matanzas High School, and VandeBunte teaches at Flagler Palm Coast They both coach basketball.

The proposal happened when Green returned from visiting family in Ohio. While relaxing on their hammock, Green was questioning VandeBunte’s feelings about carpet being made out of recycled plastic bottles, when he pulled a ring out of nowhere.

She said yes and immediately started planning their wedding. The two will be married March 31.
