The Flagler Palm Coast High School cheerleaders took first place Saturday, Jan. 7, in the Florida High School Athletics Association Region 2 championship for the small non-tumbling division. Matanzas High School placed third in the same division, which had nine teams.

Close to 70 teams total visited Flagler County for the competition, which was held at FPC for the second year in a row.

“I think all the teams in our division did really well,” said Stacia Collier, FPC coach. “It was a tough competition, I didn’t expect to win.”

For more coverage of the competition, see the Thursday, print edition of the Palm Coast Observer.
