Library celebrates Harry Potter's birthday

Harry Potter enthusiasts gathered Saturday, July 28, at the Flagler County Library to celebrate the birthday of the young wizard character.

Colombian magician Cesar Domico performed to start of the celebration. The magic show was followed by games, face painting and a screening of a Potter movie.

The biggest surprise of the celebration was the cake created by Fran Turknett to resemble Aragog, a blind Acromantula owned by Rubeus Hagrid, in the Harry Potter series.

Winners of Harry Potter themed contests were announced also at the celebration. They are as follows: trivia contest, Maggie O’Mahoney; adult coloring contest, Maria Delic; ages 12-17 coloring contest, Julie Delic; ages 6-11 coloring contest, Kate O’Mahoney; and ages 2-5 coloring contest, Desirae Astrologo.
