Henderson, Bowser get engaged via ornament

Brittany Henderson, daughter of Carl and Janice Henderson, of Palm Coast, recently got engaged to Jason Bowser, son of William Bowser, of Ocala, and Lucy Shaddix, of Astor.

Their winter wonderland-themed wedding is planned for Jan. 26, 2013, incorporating the way that Bowser proposed, on Christmas.

At midnight, he asked if Henderson wanted to exchange gifts, and she proceeded to open everything he got her. The last present she opened was in a large box. When she opened it, there was a silver, spiral ornament.

“I kept looking at it, and finally, after about a minute, I realized that the ring was hanging down through the middle of it,” Henderson said. “All I could say was, ‘Oh my gosh, yes, yes, yes!’” At that moment, he proposed.
