Attention gardeners: Spring Fling this Saturday

Sponsored by the Flagler County Master Gardeners Program, the annual Spring Fling is being offered to gardeners this weekend with discussions, demonstrations and gardens.

The free event is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at the Flagler County Extension Service, at 150 Sawgrass Road in Bunnell.

Tours of demonstration gardens will be available, as will talks on how to have a Florida-friendly garden and other topics. A schedule of events is as follows:

10 a.m. -- Louise Leister will present on gardens for small spaces
11:30 a.m. -- Master Gardeners Robert Tabit and Julia Wilson will demonstrate how to make rain barrels.
1 p.m. -- Ruth Micieli will hold a talk on spring vegetable gardening.
