At the end of the April 3 Board of County Commissioners regular meeting, Commission Chairwoman Barbara Revels announced that donations are currently being accepted for the 2012 George Washington Carver Community Center auction.

“We’re looking for items,” she said. “And it can be anything: (gift cards), maybe an old set of golf clubs in your garage….”

Last year, the fundraising event collected more than $5,000, she added, which was used for programs and center renovations.

To donate, contact County Commissioner Barbara Revels, at [email protected].
