When Jill Butler returned from Cambodia, she reflected on the change she had just experienced and became passionate about getting others to experience missions in third-world countries.

With the help of personal and corporate sponsors and more than 200 runners Saturday, Sept. 17, Butler and a team of volunteers at Parkview Baptist Church raised funds to send more people from their church on international missions trips through the Global Missions 5K.

“I’d like to say how much I appreciate our community getting behind the event, and we’ve got some great sponsors that have stepped up in a major way,” said the Rev. Greg Peters. “Our goal is to get as many people in our congregation to third-world countries, to where they are showing the hands and heart of Christ to those people, and loving those people who have a whole lot less than we do.”

Parkview Baptist is also working on local missions through their “We Love Palm Coast” campaign.

The church has reached out to first responders, city workers and educators at Matanzas High, Indian Trails Middle, Belle Terre Elementary and Imagine schools, to show thanks to the services provided to the community.
