Thanks to music by Miss Patty and 10 gallons of ice cream donated by Schwan’s, the party was in full swing Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Whispering Meadows Ranch.

The ice cream party acted as the kickoff for the ranch’s season.

Whispering Meadows is a nonprofit organization that offers recreational, educational and equine programs for children and adults with special needs.

Other businesses that participated in the party were CVS, The Waffle Cone, Steak and Shake and Baskin-Robbins.

Whispering Meadows Program Coordinator Kristine Aguirre said the ranch has a broad definition of special needs, which includes physical and mental disabilities caused from an illness.

“I want this to be that place where kids can come and get therapy, and parents can come and relax,” Aguirre said.
