Two Flagler County teenagers were arrested Oct. 13 in connection with a series of vehicle burglaries in the area of Brushwood Lane in Palm Coast.

Anthony Clark, 18, of Beachway Lane, Palm Coast, and William Medders, 17, of Hickory Street, Daytona North, are each charged with three felony counts of burglary of a vehicle and grand theft. Medders is additionally charged with possession of burglary tools.

Both teenagers were stopped on Palm Coast Parkway near Brushwood Lane around 3 a.m. when deputies noticed them riding bicycles without headlights. Deputies said both were carrying filled bags.

When deputies asked to look inside the bags, the teenagers agreed. Deputies reported finding two GPS, a radar detector and a telephone ear device.

The items were determined to be stolen from three separate unlocked vehicles in the area.

Clark was booked into the Flagler County Inmate Facility where he was being held on $10,000 bond. Medders was transported to the Division of Youth Services.

“At 3 a.m., these two teens should have been home,” said Sheriff Donald W. Fleming. “We were able to solve three burglaries thanks to the proactive approach of the deputies. However, these burglaries may have been avoided had the owners locked their vehicles.”
