Flagler County Fire Rescue wears pink for breast cancer

Flagler County Fire Rescue will be wearing pink shirts in support of breast-cancer awareness in October.

“We hope that the pink will remind women to schedule a mammogram,” said Lt. Brian Gilbert.

But what started as a fundraiser for breast cancer research has turned into a fundraiser for a fellow firefighter. The money raised through shirt sales will be donated to a Port Orange firefighter with lung cancer.

The shirts are on sale for $10, and can be purchased by calling 295-7845.
