Twenty-four members of Marine Trawler Owners Association’s First Coast Cruisers, utilizing 10 small boats, participated in the city of Palm Coast’s fourth-annual waterway cleanup.

The team collected 876 pounds of debris and 32 pounds of recyclable materials — more than half of the 1,706 pounds collected by all other volunteers.

Unusual items collected included a cocktail table base, kid toys, dog toys, fishing rods, rods and reels and a section of chain-link fencing. The group also picked up plastics, tires and cans.
