Flagler County Board of County Commission former chairman Alan Peterson announced Monday, Nov. 21, that the Tourist Development Council is currently seeking two residents to serve on its board.

The available seats are open to, each, a tourism professional and an owner/operator subject to tourist development tax, such as a hotelier.

Flagler’s tourism development team also recently got a new leader in Georgia Turner, who replaced the resigned Peggy Heiser. Turner took office the same day that the commission awarded a $27,600 tourism market research study to Daytona-based Mid-Florida Marketing & Research Inc.

The study will run for 12 months, and is meant to help tourism officials pinpoint where to focus promotional resources in the future.

For more, call 313-4000.
