As of Friday afternoon Nov. 18 a new team is scheduled to be aboard at three Palm Coast golf venues, and both the Grand Club and Hampton Golf will cease to exist as management names.

The team of Stephen Drew, Kim Pepe, Craig Ranciatto, Frank Vignati, Bill Tulley, Henry Angle and a Connecticut investor unknown by name at the present will be running this fascinating venue.

The one straw in the ointment is whether final details will be completed in time for the actual take over in time for Saturday play. After all is over and done with at Crescent, the present owner, The Golf Group of Palm Coast LLC must then meet with city officials and clear away the necessary paper work. If this can be done early Friday afternoon, the new ownership will be ready for work. If not, there might possibly be a delay for Saturday and weekend play at Cypress and The Pine.

In my opinion, this organization is solid. Each has been highly successful in a variety of business operations. They love the game of golf. Several of the new owners have been playing here for years and know the positives and faults as well and possibly better than any management company positioned outside the city.

Drew has had a highly successful business career in Connecticut and will be in Palm Coast as a permanent resident within the week after the official take over.

Vignati is an avid golfer who knows these three courses and their needs to perfection.

Tulley has been playing the game here for years, and everywhere he goes from Pine to Grand Reserve, he’s greeted as the friendliest person to ever strike a golf ball.

Henry Angle is one more who will play an important role in this venture. We attend the same church, Trinity Presbyterian, where he is highly regarded. Both he and Lorrie have been deeply involved in helping wherever they can and use many hours in church work with everything from membership directories to simply helping people. Angle’s personality is perfect for this new golf group, and he will play a huge role in making sure things are done right.

Kim Bepe is likely to be the most important factor to this group, and will serve in overall administration. She is a CPA and has been so for the past 18 years. She also is very pleasant to know and is a popular person among a cast of both business and people friendships. Her knowledge and ability is critical for a smooth running ownership program. She may be the most important key to all involved.

Ranciatto is another with a successful business background in Connecticut and may be ready to assume the title of best golfer in the house. His mind has captured the ins and outs of every golf course in the region, all the while showing up at putting greens in the early mornings. He’s a natural for this golf venture.

The group fully intends to open Matanzas as soon as possible, but we and they know it will be an expensive endeavor. They will start with the re-opening of the Matanzas driving range and then go to the extensive work of preparing full play. It may take more time than initially realized.

So there you have it: the real story of whose involved and their capability of providing the best golf venues in Palm Coast.

If anyone wishes further information they may e-mail the following: [email protected]. Information and answers to all questions by existing members will be provided. They also are hopeful of receiving such requests from original and former members of The Grand Club.
