Chris Larson, of Flagler Beach, was boating on the Intracoastal Waterway with his daughter, Andrea Moore, and her family, when his son-in-law, Brian, and grandsons, Kade and Keegan, jumped off the boat to look for shells.

They picked up a plastic bottle and realized it had a letter inside.

Excited, they ran back to the boat and cut it open; the the plastic cap had been cracked, and the inside had gotten wet, causing the letter to deteriorate. The letter was set adrift Dec. 31, 1999, with wishes for the future at the turn of the century. It was signed by residents of Sea Colony, Palm Coast.

“I thought it would be neat to mail the letter back to them at the address on the letterhead with pictures of my grandkids and kids opening it,” Larson said.

But the address was no longer valid. Do you know who sent the letter adrift? Email shanna@palmcoast observer.com.
