In a heated and spirited competition, the Imagine School at Town Center’s Imagine Spirit Mighty Squad cheered its way to a second-place finish May 7, in Sarasota, at the statewide Imagine Schools of Florida cheerleading competition. This was the first competition for the squad, said coach Wendy Wright.

The Imagine School at North Port finished in first place, but Wright said her team came in a close second.

Wright’s team, which features 13 girls in grades fourth through seventh, was the youngest and smallest team to compete in the competition, which featured more than 100 girls.

“Thank you to all of the Mighty Squad girls for your hard work, which I promise will always pay off,” Wright said.
