In Ta’yaun McKinnon’s senior season at Flagler Palm Coast, he led the Bulldogs with 118 total tackles and four sacks.
From Bulldog to Wildcat.
Ta’yaun McKinnon, senior at Flagler Palm Coast High School, signed his National Letter of Intent with Bethel University, in Tennesse.
McKinnon, who recorded 69 solo tackles, five tackles for loss and four sacks in his senior season, said he will be playing safety for the Wildcats.
“I fit into Bethel’s defense better than any other choice (I had),” McKinnon said.
Caesar Campana, FPC football coach, said McKinnon is an outstanding athlete with a ton of potential in college.
“He is the kind of player who can play a variety of positions from tailback to linebacker,” Campana said. “He has a knack for making big plays. His college coaches will love working him.”
The Wildcats compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and went 5-5 last season. In fact, Bethel lineman Michael Jasper was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the seventh round of last weekend’s NFL Draft.
As for McKinnon, however, he just plans to enjoy the next four years of his life playing college football.
“I look forward to a new life experience at Bethel — to playing there four years and graduating,” McKinnon said.
