Saturday, Jan. 15, was Free Entrance Day in the National Parks, and 20 students from Heritage Academy took full advantage by visiting Castillo de San Marcos, in St. Augustine.

“Education is not eight hours a day, Monday through Friday,” Cindy Erickson, dean of students at Heritage Academy, said via e-mail. “Education is 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and we here at Heritage Academy are proud of our students who realized this concept and received a bit of education on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in St. Augustine.”

The next free entrance for national parks around the country is April 16-24 for National Park Week.
