The Garden Club at Palm Coast will plant an 18-foot red cedar tree Friday, Jan. 21, in Central Park at Town Center.

As part of Arbor Day, the tree planting will memorialize members who died last year.

The dedication ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. Those to be remembered are Hilda Gottwald, Tom Foy, Donald and Laura Pierce, Jim Miskelly, Joan Holzschuh and Jim Wilson.

The Garden Club at Palm Coast is also accepting applications for three scholarships to be given to high school seniors and college students living in Flagler County who are seeking further education in horticulture, agriculture and environmental studies.

The scholarships will be $500 each. The application deadline is March 15.
