+ Flagler County represented at the Academy Ball
Cadets from all of the nation’s five U.S. Service Academies came together Dec. 27, at Naval Station Mayport for the fifth-annual Northeast Florida All Service Academy Ball.

Flagler County was represented by Cadet Timothy Pena, U.S. Military Academy; Midshipman Jacob Spitzer, attending the U.S. Naval Academy; and Cadet Charles W. Leffler, attending the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.

The formal event, which was far away from the rigorous routines at their respective training sites, drew the largest attendance to date.

The annual dinner and dance is one of dozens held across the country during winter break, and recognizes young men and women preparing to serve as officers from the greater-Jacksonville area.
