The Flagler County Art League held its first juried photography show Dec. 10, at the gallery. The show featured 63 entries in the categories of animal, architecture, digital photo art, floral, landscape/seascape, portrait and still life.

The juried show was the art league’s attempt at increasing the quality of entries in the future, according to Robert Carlsen, the league’s director of gallery shows.

“We’re growing up,” he said.

Carlsen believes that higher quality art will help Palm Coast fit into the Art Coast, a new name for the arts corridor from St. Augustine to Daytona Beach. He is helping to promote the Art Coast in hopes of attracting people from out of the area to the arts scene in Palm Coast, and in particular to City Marketplace.

The show will be on display through Jan. 10, at 160 Cypress Point Parkway, 207C.
