Flagler Audubon Society seeks bird counters

Only in Florida is it enjoyable to count birds in the middle of December.

The Flagler Audubon Society will participate in the annual Christmas Bird Count Dec. 16. It’s the 112th year of the longest-running ornithological census.

The count provides critical data about the health and well being of bird populations in the western hemisphere. Information collected during the bird count helps to identify threats to bird populations and their habitats and ultimately aids in the determination of necessary conservation policies.
