People gathered Thursday, Dec. 1, for what is hoped to be a new Palm Coast tradition: a tree lighting ceremony, in Central Park at Town Center.

The Southern red cedar tree was planted by the Palm Coast Garden Club on Arbor Day in recognition of past members. The tree was donated for the holiday lighting.

As the tree was lit, so were the 37 displays at the Flagler County Rotary’s sixth-annual Fantasy Lights.

Club President Kathleen Terlizzo said the group looks forward to working with the city of Palm Coast and the Flagler County Rotary Club each year to make sure this event continues.
