The Flagler County Commission along with the local chapter of the Southern Off Road Bicycle Association dedicated the new bike and walking trails within the Mala Compra Greenway today, Friday, Dec. 2.

The trails include a 2.5 mile walking trail that begins at the intersection of Mala Compra Road and State Road A1A and a 5.5 mile mountain bike trail.

“We have almost 50 miles of hiking and equestrian trails including the Lehigh Trail through Graham Swamp,” County Administrator Craig Coffey said. “Mountain biking is a good fit with the hiking, kayaking and canoeing that Flagler County offers. We have worked with the local chapter to provide an excellent trail.”

The local chapter will have a grand opening of the Mountain Bike trail 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, with a ride planned for that day.
