FPC sweethearts tie the knot

Taylor Alter, daughter of Dr. Dennis and Laurie Alter, of Flagler Beach, married Marcus Duffy, son of Charles and Noeleen Duffy, of Palm Coast, July 23, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, with a reception at Hammock Beach Resort.

Taylor and Marcus were high school sweethearts and graduated from Flagler Palm Coast High School in 2007.

While at FPC, Taylor was crowned Homecoming Queen 2007 and Marcus was a member of the 2005 state championship cross-country team.

The two attended Florida Southern College together, where Taylor was the 2011 commencement speaker. They are both recipients of Florida Southern’s top leadership/academic/service award.

The wedding date was important to the bride, as it was the 80th birthday of her late maternal grandfather, the former Florida Supreme Court Justice David McCain.

Her gown was an original design that incorporated lace and appliqué from her mother’s wedding gown.
