Controlled burn sends smoke through L-section

When there’s smoke, there’s fire. But sometimes, as is currently the case on Old Kings Road, the are controlled.

According to Flagler County Emergency Management Chief Troy Harper, a 40-acre controlled burn is currently taking place at the Flagler County Agricultural Museum, at 7900 Old Kings Road. Smoke from the burn can be seen in the L-section and near Matanzas High School.

Controlled burns are permitted daily by the Florida Division of Forestry.
