After the county rejected its most recent retooling plan, and the city of Palm Coast refrained from including funding for the organization in its upcoming year’s budget, Enterprise Flagler received its final blow this afternoon when its board of directors unanimously agreed to begin the company’s dissolution process.

The “swan song meeting,” as Palm Coast Mayor Jon Netts referred to it, was called to discuss the direction of the public-private business/industry-development firm. Directors decided that “enough was enough,” so to speak.

“After the county meeting (where they rejected the retooling plan), it was overall resolved,” said Greg Rawls, Enterprise Flagler executive director. “We’re just on different pages — what the county wants and (what we want).”

Enterprise Flagler will close shop Sept. 30, Rawls confirmed.
