Bob Devereux and his wife, Janice, are the proud owners of Rex, the 150-pound German shepherd featured in the Nov. 25. issue of the Palm Coast Observer.
“I saw the picture on the front page, and I knew I was in trouble,” Devereux said.
He convinced his wife to take a look at the Flagler Humane Society, too, and they decided to take Rex home.
“He’s a big one,” Devereux said. “I’m 6 foot, 3 inches, and I can pat his head without bending over.
“ … They loved him at the shelter,” he added. “There were two people who were almost in tears that we were taking him.”
Devereux said Rex is adapting well to life in the F-section.
