Construction on Zaxby’s, a franchised chain of fast casual restaurants that sells buffalo chicken wings, chicken fingers, sandwiches and salads, will likely begin by end of summer, in Cobblestone Village, according to city officials.

Larry Torino, senior planner for the city, said the restaurant could open by the end of the year.

“At this juncture, (it's) an energetic schedule,” Torino wrote Wednesday via email.

Cobblestone Village is located behind Walmart, and near the new Florida Hospital Flagler facility.

At Tuesday’s City Council meeting, the plat of lot No. 2 was unanimously approved for Zaxby’s.

The technical site plan is going through the approval process right now. The second part is the building permit process.

Zaxby’s will be the fast-food establishment one of the lots is zoned for. The other lot is zoned for a sit-down restaurant.
