Louise Bush rang in one century of life on Tuesday, July 15, at The Windsor of Palm Coast, an assisted-living facility — complete with cake, ice cream and presents.

Born on July 15, 1919, Bush is described as a determined woman. After graduating from school in from Fairmount, West Virginia, she became a secretary for the American Red Cross.

She moved in Palm Coast in 2002 and got connected at Palm Coast United Methodist Church. Her late husband was in the U.S. Navy.

Ann Cameron, Bush’s primary caregiver, has known her for about 17 years, she said.

“She said she’s a strong-willed woman — her words,” Cameron laughed.

Their friendship evolved into a caregiver position about 11 years ago, Cameron said.

“She loved to play bridge, and she was very active in our church,” Cameron said of Bush. “She and her husband were avid golfers.”

Bush has resided at The Windsor since April 2018.
