When Flagler Palm Coast senior Abbey Konchan attended a yoga project in Ormond Beach, she was inspired to recreate it at her school.
As a result, the FPC Student Government Association will join the national campaign to raise money and spread awareness about the AIDS epidemic, in Africa.
Students will host the African Yoga Aids Project 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, at FPC, in the 800 gym. Yoga instructors will offer a variety of styles. They will be collecting money donations for the AIDS project and canned food for the food banks.
Konchan said all the money raised will support research and teachers who are currently traveling through Africa.
She also stressed it will be basic yoga, and the event is open to the community.
