Birthdays. Some of us dread our special day, because we don’t hear “happy birthday” enough, everyone seems to forget to buy us any gifts or we’re tried to erase a bad memory from a past birthday party. Then there are people like Keith Stuart, a Palm Coast Little League baseball dad. On the day he came into the world, the world has not stopped giving him incredible gifts on July 8.

Keith’s best birthday gift came in the form of his firstborn son, Tyler, on Keith’s 30th birthday. Keith, his wife and PCLL son, Carrie and Brayden, were able to wish Tyler — who currently attends SUNY Maritime College — a happy birthday on Saturday all the way in Sicily, Italy.

While nothing will trump the birthday that delivered his firstborn, Keith acknowledged that this past weekend now ranks second all-time.

In addition to wishing Tyler a happy birthday, fellow baseball parent Cindy Trawick brought a birthday cake to the field in between 11U’s sectional games. All the Palm Coast supporters sang “Happy birthday” to Keith, which made him “happily embarrassed.”

“I was more embarrassed by their singing than anything else,” he wrote in a social media post.

Cindy’s son, Isaac, and Ethan Martinez both hit home runs for the first time ever in their young careers. Instead of thinking of only themselves, both boys told Keith they hit the homers for his birthday. What a nice gesture!

Although Brayden wasn’t born on dad’s birthday, he, along with the rest of his teammates, made history by becoming Palm Coast’s first 11U team to win the sectional tournament and advance to state.

“Tonight, I am counting a tremendous amount of blessings, and I am truly humbled by it all,” Keith added in his post.

In his post, Keith called the PCLL supporters his family. Judging by the actions of the players and parents, I can see why. Happy birthday, Keith!
