One woman was found dead in a fire that engulfed the bedroom of a mobile home on Whitefeather Lane at the Bulow RV Resort, off Old Kings Road, early the morning of July 11.

The woman's roommate was not injured, according to authorities.

Flagler County Fire Rescue crews were dispatched to the site at 4:18 a.m. in response to a call about smoke showing. Palm Coast and Flagler Beach also sent units, and firefighters were able to confine the blaze to the bedroom, according to Flagler County government Public Information Officer Julie Murphy.

One of two cats in the home was rescued, and the other had not been found as of the time the county's fire chief left the scene.

The Red Cross has been called out to assist the roommate who was not injured.

The State Fire Marshal's office is investigating the cause of the fire.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
