According to a news release from the Flagler County School District, approximately 47 children were on the school bus involed in an accident on Whiteview Parkway at approximately 6:40 a.m. Jan. 9.
A total of 25 children were ultimately taken to Florida Hospital Flagler for evaluation for minor injuries. Seven of those children were taken to Florida Hospital Flagler by Flagler County EMS. The other students were taken to Florida Hospital Flagler on another school bus as a precaution. Two adults were also hospitalized, one of whom was taken to Halifax Hospital in critical condition.

Five children and a school bus driver have been hospitalized with minor injuries, and one woman sustained life-threatening injuries, in a crash involving two cars and a school bus the morning of Jan. 9, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.
The crash occurred on Whiteview Parkway at Ravenwood Drive at about 7 a.m., and the school bus was bound for Buddy Taylor Middle School, Flagler Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Paula Priester said. School district officials said in a news release that the bus was number 20413, the Buffalo bus.
FHP officials said a Mazda sedan driven by a young woman was heading west on Whiteview Parkway, with a Mitsubishi driven by a man behind it. The school bus was heading east on Whiteview Parkway. “The Mazda had stopped and was waiting to turn left, when it was rear-ended by the Mitsubishi, and that caused it to be pushed in front of the school bus,” FHP spokesman Sgt. Dylan Bryan said. “The driver of the Mazda was a female that was transported to Halifax Hospital with life-threatening injuries.”
There were about 42 children on the school bus, he said, and the bus driver along with five children were taken to Florida Hospital Flagler with minor injuries while the rest of the students will be transferred to a replacement bus that will be driven to Florida Hospital Flagler so the students can be checked for precautionary reasons.
The intersection remained blocked at 9:20 a.m. but was expected to be reopened by 10, a.m., Bryan said.
