Woman charged with DUI in Flagler Beach, went 95 in 45 mph zone

When asked how much she had to drink that night, she told officers, “I don’t remember."

Law enforcement arrested and charged a woman with a DUI in Flagler Beach on the night of Thursday, Jan. 17, according to a case report by the Flagler Beach Police Department.

Officers parked facing westbound in the 2200 block of Moody Boulevard observed a woman in a black 2017 Nissan Sentra driving 95 mph in a 45 mph zone. The woman, 28-year-old Bunnell resident Jasmin Amada Sanchez, was traveling eastbound and continued over the Flagler Beach bridge.

After police activated their emergency lights, the vehicle eventually stopped near North 2nd Street.

Officers could smell “an extremely strong odor consistent with an alcoholic beverage" coming from the vehicle and the driver.

Sanchez slurred her words when speaking to the officers.

When asked how much she had to drink that night, she replied, “I don’t remember,” according to the report. When asked about what was in the silver cup in her vehicle’s cup holder, she said, “I don’t know. Probably Jack and Coke.”

In addition, Sanchez almost fell down multiple times during the field sobriety tests.

She was taken to the Flagler County Jail.
