A woman arranged to meet a Palm Coast 19-year-old for a drug deal on White Star Drive on Oct. 16, and, when she got there, she tried to steal his marijuana and money and shot him in the back of the neck with a semi-automatic handgun, according to a Flagler County Sheriff's Office charging affidavit.

He is in critical condition, but expected to live, according to an FCSO news release.

Law enforcement officers in Volusia County the evening of Wednesday, Oct. 17, arrested Princess Williams, 21 and a resident of Daytona Beach, in connection with the crime.

An investigation by FCSO detective revealed the drug deal and the attempted robbery, according to the news release. Williams had arrived at the planned location without money to buy the drugs. Witnesses saw her enter his car to rob him, according to the charging affidavit.

Williams agreed to meet with FCSO Detectives at the Daytona Beach Police Department, and spoke to an FCSO Cpl. George Hristakopoulos.

“This shows again that where there is illegal drugs there are guns and violent crime," Sheriff Rick Staly said in the news release. "Our detectives, patrol, communications, CSI and Crime Analytics Unit did a great job following up on all leads in this case and did not rest until they identified and located the suspect and witnesses. The victim is expected to live but this case also underscores the hazards of being a drug dealer. Fortunately, in this case, no innocent persons were injured."

Williams is charged with attempted first degree murder with a firearm, attempted robbery with a firearm, and attempted burglary while armed. She is being held at the Volusia County Jail awaiting extradition to Flagler County, according to the news release.
