A 25-year-old Lancaster, Pennsylvania woman was killed in the early morning hours of Oct. 27 when the pickup truck she was a passenger in overturned on U.S.1.

The young woman's name has been withheld by the Florida Highway Patrol pending notification of kin. The pickup was driven by Tyler Wayne Dutton, a 24-year-old Bunnell resident.

Dutton was heading north on U.S. 1 just north of Old Dixie Highway in a blue 2008 Toyota Tacoma at about 1:51 a.m. when, "for reasons unknown at this time," according to an FHP report, the pickup traveled left onto the grass median, then crossed northwest over the southbound lanes of U.S.1 and overturned several times on the road's grassy western shoulder, throwing the young woman from the vehicle.

The pickup came to rest upright and facing west. The woman died at the scene of the accident, and Dutton was taken to Florida Hospital Flagler with serious injuries. He had been arrested in 2013 on a charge of driving on a suspended license, and once in 2012 on a charge of obstructing justice.
