A 24-year-old woman reported to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office Sept. 6 that she had been sexually assaulted in Palm Coast.

The woman is from out of state, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Laura Williams said. “We are interviewing her and trying to find the suspect,” Williams said.

The woman told deputies that she was “accosted by an unknown black male at a motel in Daytona Beach and then transported to Palm Coast and again sexually assaulted,” according to a Sheriff’s Office commander’s report. “The victim at some point feigned an illness and the suspect transported her to (Florida Hospital Flagler). The victim reported the assault to the nurses on duty and the suspect left the hospital.”

The Sheriff’s Office case report on the incident is almost entirely redacted. The report lists a time range for the incident as 10 p.m. Sept. 5 to 9:34 a.m. Sept. 6, but notes that the crime was reported at 9:33 a.m. Sept 6 and that a deputy responded to the hospital at 9:35 a.m. Sept. 6.
