Between a Thanksgiving dinner, a Christmas Ball and a Jingle Bell Bowling tournament, the holiday cheer in Flagler County is getting ready to begin.

Community Thanksgiving dinner

When: 1-4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 23

Where: The Wickline Senior Center, 800 S. Daytona Ave., Flagler Beach

Free self-defense seminar

When: 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29

Where: Villari's Martial Arts of Palm Coast, 515 Palm Coast Parkway, Suite 15 (Roma Court Plaza)

Details: Open to both men and women, ages 16 and up. No experience necessary. Register by Nov. 27. Call 246-2080.

 

Blessing of the Horses and Open House

When: 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2

Where: Whispering Meadow Ranch, 5011 John Anderson Highway, Flagler Beach

Details: Christmas carols, treats, nativity area and holiday crafts and games. Blessing is at 5 p.m., and the Open House is 4:30-7 p.m. RSVP to 503-6312 or 439-3195.

 

Mad Hatter’s Christmas Ball

When: 6-11 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2

Where: The Columbian Club of Flagler County, 51 Old Kings Road N.

Details: For its eighth-annual season, the Mad Hatter’s Christmas Ball returns to the Columbian Club. $100 cash prizes will be awarded by a panel of distinguished judges for "The Funniest, Most Attractive and Most Creative Wearable Hats." Tickets are $35 per person and include a four-course tableside service. Deadline to purchase is Nov. 25. Call or text Maria Laurent at 225-7222.

 

Jingle Bell Bowl

When: 1:30-6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3

Where: Palm Coast Lanes, 11 Old Kings Road

Details: The Palm Coast Yacht Club is holding a bowling tournament fundraiser for the local chapter of Disabled American Veterans. Teams of five will compete. $20 per team member. For tickets, contact Sarah Ulis at 253-5166 or [email protected].
