Community Thanksgiving dinner

When: 1-4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 23

Free self-defense seminar

Tree-Lighting Ceremony

Where: Central Park in Town Center, 975 Central Ave., Palm Coast

Cost: Free

Details: Santa will arrive on a Palm Coast fire engine as the countdown to the tree lighting begins. Jazz singer Linda Cole will perform holiday favorites. Unwrapped toys and nonperishable food will be collected for Toys for Tots and a local food pantry.

Festival of Trees

When: 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1

Where: Flagler County Public Library, 2500 Palm Coast Parkway NW, Palm Coast

Cost: Free

Details: Presented by the library and Friends of the Library, the event will feature many trees decorated by local nonprofit organizations. Musical entertainment by County Commissioner Nate McLaughlin. The trees will be on display through December. Call 446-6763.

“Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some)”

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9

The Sound of Christmas

Mad Hatter’s Christmas Ball

When: 6-11 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2

Where: The Columbian Club of Flagler County, 51 Old Kings Road N.

Details: For its eighth-annual season, the Mad Hatter’s Christmas Ball returns to the Columbian Club. $100 cash prizes will be awarded by a panel of distinguished judges for "The Funniest, Most Attractive and Most Creative Wearable Hats." Jingle Bell Bowl
