Bill Watson, the founder of Watson Realty Corp., was elated to announce the opening of a new office.
The main reason: “We felt like we really needed to be near the beach,” Watson said.
Watson Realty executives and employees and members of the community gathered at the company’s newest office, located at 5055 N. Oceanshore Blvd. in the Hammock, on the afternoon of Wednesday, Feb. 21.
Watson Realty — which has 43 offices throughout Florida and South Georgia, including a Palm Coast location — had expressed interest the past few years at opening an office east of the Intracoastal Waterway but couldn’t find the right property.
Then the sport on Oceanshore Boulevard opened up. Watson Realty closed on the property about a year ago. Ten real estate agents will be employed at the new office.
“It’s close to the Hammocks, close to the beach, east of the Intracoastal,” said Watson Realty President Ed Forman, who has been involved in real estate for the past 45 years. “There’s a lot of growth on this side of town, and we felt like we needed to be a part of it.”
