While Jarvus Smith, of the P-section in Palm Coast, was being brought to jail for unpaid traffic tickets, deputies discovered a surprise in his shoe.

A deputy from the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office made a traffic stop Sept. 15 on Smith, 35, and found that his driver’s license had been suspended. In fact, he was listed as a “habitual traffic offender” for eight charges of unpaid traffic tickets dating to 2004.

When Smith was brought to the Flagler County Inmate Facility, the deputy reported that he attempted to conceal a small baggie of marijuana in his shoe.

Smith was charged with driving with a suspended license as a habitual traffic offender, possession of marijuana under 20 grams and introduction of a controlled substance into a correctional facility.
