Two people were taken into custody March 29 after fleeing a traffic stop on State Road 100.

The traffic stop occurred at about 10:30 a.m., according to Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Shannon Martin, and two people in the vehicle fled on foot.

The Flagler County Sheriff's Office placed security at the nearby Christ Lutheran Church, at 2323 N. State Street, as deputies searched for the two on foot. The Sheriff's Office also called in the county's emergency services helicopter, Fire Flight, to assist.

They had caught both suspects by 1 p.m. No schools were evacuated or placed on lockdown during the chase, Martin said.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
