Two men are in critical condition after a fight that ended with a stabbing Monday night outside the Pizza Hut near the Publix shopping center on Palm Coast Parkway at Belle Terre Parkway.

The Sheriff's Office got a call about a possible stabbing at 9:36 p.m., according to a Sheriff's Office news release, and deputies arrived at the rear parking lot of the Pizza Hut and found a 21-year-old man who had been stabbed in the abdomen. A Flagler County Fire Rescue ambulance took him to Halifax Hospital.

Detectives gathered information and began looking for a suspect in the B Section. At about 9:58 p.m., they found the suspect, a 42-year-old, on Braddock Lane. He had a stab wound to the abdomen from earlier the same night. Rescuers took him to Halifax Hospital.

"Although the investigation is still ongoing, detectives believe a verbal altercation initially occurred on Braddock Lane and later escalated after one man stabbed the other. ... It is still unclear as to motive," according to the Sheriff's Office news release. After the initial fight, one of the men went to Pizza Hut and the other followed, then stabbed him in the abdomen, according to the release. Charges are pending.
