A crash on Matanzas Woods Parkway at 6:15 p.m. May 7 left a 35-year-old man in serious condition and caused $60,000 in damages to the vehicles.

Preliminary investigative findings from the Florida Highway Patrol indicate that Nerissa Anne, 23, of Palm Coast, was driving her 2012 Dodge Caravan east on Matanzas Woods Parkway. Adrian Stasky, 35, of Palm Coast, was driving a 2008 Toyota Camry west.

Anne proceeded into the westbound lane, according to the media release. Stasky steered across the eastbound lane and entered the eastbound shoulder in an attempt to avoid a potential collision with Anne’s Caravan.

Then Anne reentered the eastbound lane. The front her vehicle then collided with the front of Stasky’s Camry on the eastbound shoulder. Stasky was initially transported to Florida Hospital Flagler for treatment of his injuries.

When the state trooper arrived at the hospital, staff said Stasky’s injuries were more severe than originally thought. As a result, he was being airlifted to Shands Hospital Jacksonville for further treatment.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts. Alcohol was not involved in the crash.
