FLAGLER BEACH — Flagler County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched at about 5 p.m. Thursday, April 21, to the CVS Pharmacy on State Road 100, in Flagler Beach, where a store clerk reported a man wearing a hoodie and dark glasses had demanded oxycodone. The man, according to the clerk, displayed a handgun that was tucked in his waistband.

Ten minutes after responding to the call, deputies had two men in custody near the Interstate-95 and Old Dixie Highway intersection.

Deputies reported that one of the suspects threw the gun and 10 bottles of the prescription drug out the window of the vehicle before being stopped. Sheriff’s K-9 units recovered all the discarded property.

The two men are being questioned, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
