Twisters Ice Cream Cafe owners Tony and Florinda Corte-Real said they will be moving from their current location to the former PC Bike location, at 25 Palm Harbor Village Way.
“Thanks to the support of our dedicated customers, our dream is now made possible,” said Tony Corte-Real said. “We plan to occupy the new space by the beginning of next year.”
The family-run ice cream shop recently celebrated its fourth anniversary. The current location at 9 Palm Harbor Village measures in at 1,300 square feet, while the new location is 1,700.
“We will be offering over 36 flavors of homemade ice cream, and birthday cakes,” Tony Corte-Real said. “And because it is in such high demand, we will be introducing our new frozen yogurt once we make the move. The new location will have plenty of room for seating, so people can hang out while enjoying their desserts.”
The expansion will also allow room to start selling wholesale items to other businesses, such as fresh packaged ice cream and cakes.
“We are excited to announce the possibility of school field trips to the shop, so the kids can see how our ice cream is made fresh and in the shop,” Tony Corte-Real said. Kids on field trips will also get a chance to sample the ice cream.
The shop is run solely by Tony and Florinda Corte-Real, who often work 10-12 hours daily. Their niece, Nicole Prata, helped create Twisters' logo, and the couple receives budgeting assistance from their son, Miguel Pereira.
