The following is a release from the Flagler County Sheriff's Office:
Three students were arrested Monday, June 6, on a felony charge of burglary and a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief, after school officials reported a weekend break-in at Buddy Taylor Middle School.
Flagler County Sheriff’s School Resource Deputy Eric Kuleski reported a school maintenance office was entered through an unlocked door late Saturday evening. Once inside, the young burglars made a pot of coffee, ate pudding and proceeded to break light bulbs.
A video recording was made of the youngsters walking in and around the school that night.
All three were arrested and released to their parents at the direction of the Division of Youth Services.
“Parental supervision is vital to keeping our youngsters on track. Schools will be breaking for the summer vacation this week. Parents need to know where their children are and what they are doing,” said Sheriff Donald W. Fleming.
