Springsteen-era rock 'n' rollers take the stage in Palm Coast

Friday, Feb. 24: Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Flagler Auditorium, 5500 East Highway 100 in Palm Coast. Emerging from the same New Jersey Shore music scene as his now-legendary contemporary and friend Bruce Springsteen, Southside’s first three albums were produced by band co-founder Steven Van Zandt and largely featured songs written by Van Zandt and/or Springsteen. Tickets are $39.50 for adults and $28.50 for children.

Here’s a look at what else is going on locally this week

Thursday, Feb. 23: Emmanuel's Closet secnd-annual Fashion Show, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Channelside, 1 Yacht Club Drive in Palm Coast. Come join the fun at the second annual night of fashion and food. Tickets are $50. All proceeds benefit Emmanuel's Closet to help clothe Flagler's children, families and seniors.

Saturday, Feb. 25: 10th-annual CTK Kids Carnival, 1 p.m. to 4p.m. at Central Park in the Palm Coast Town Center, 975 Central Ave. in Flagler Beach. This favorite local event provides hours of free entertainment for kids, including bounce houses; obstacle courses; street performers (face painting, balloon artists, magician, and more); and dance and cheer teams. Saturday, Feb. 25:  Flagler Humane Society's 12th-annual SPAY-ghetti Dinner & Silent Auction, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Elks Lodge #2709, 53 Old Kings Road North in Palm Coast. An evening of dinner, dancing, silent auctions, and raffles to benefit the Flagler Humane Society; cash bar opens at 5 p.m., with dinner at 6. Tickets are $35. Saturday, Feb. 25: Black Family Summit -- state of the black family and what we're going to do about it, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (registration begins at 10 a.m.) at the G.W. Carver Community Center, 206 E. Drain St. in Bunnell. Free event, lunch is included

Sunday, Feb. 26: Sheltering Tree fundraiser, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Santa Maria Del Mar Catholic Church, 915 N. Central Ave. in Flagler Beach. Donating food for the event are Larry’s Deli and Terranova Italian Restaurant in Bunnell, Pasta Pasta and Giovanni’s in Flagler, and Mezzaluna Pizzeria in Palm Coast. Music and entertainment will be provided by Palm Coast’s Debbie Owen and Tony T. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased at the door, with all proceeds to benefit the Sheltering Tree homeless center in Bunnell.
