Spring arts show draws thousands

More than 3,000 people attended the Flagler County Art League’s Spring Arts Festival.

The two-day event featured artists from various media. Winners for the outdoor show: best in show, Win Jones; award of excellence for painting, Judy B. Jones; award of excellence for jewelry, Jim Biod; award of excellence for pottery, Mina Heulein; award of excellence for photography, John ‘Buddy’ Hatcher; and award of excellence for 2-D, Kevan Breitinger.

Winners for the indoor show: best of show, Rick Urban, turned wood bowl with gemstone inlay; first place, Judi Wormeck, mixed media; second, Lucy Suhr, watercolor; and third, Judy B. Jones, watercolor.

The festival also featured a high school show. Winners in the student show: best of show, Adam Lehman; drawing: first place, Cindy Orbsz; second, Katie Sawyer; third, Allison William.

For painting: first, Christina Bernhardt; second, Katie Sawyer; third, Kelly Kryspin.

For mixed media: first, Cheyenne Marqardt; second, Ayhan Konar; third, Ashley Homer; graphics: first, Taylor Pogue; second, Zack Phisterar; third, Steve Williams.

For sculpture: first, Tatianna Goncalves; second, Shelbie Miller; third, Kayla Adams.

For photography: first, Mike Spanglar; second, Nicole Fullwood; and place, Emily Harezlak.
