Six candidates file for Palm Coast mayor race

The City Council Primary Election will be held Aug. 30. The general election is Nov. 8.

It's still more than six months out from the Palm Coast City Council Primary Election, but already the mayor's race is crowded with candidates.

Six people have registered to run for the seat of mayor, which will be vacated by current Mayor Jon Netts, who is term-limited, at the end of his current term. 

The City Council Primary Election will be held Aug. 30. The general election is Nov. 8.

Races are non-partisan, but primaries will be held for any race that has more than two registered candidates. 

Anyone who wants to register as a candidate can get qualifying information by calling Palm Coast City Clerk Virginia Smith 986-3713.

Candidate qualifying week is noon, June 20, 2016 through noon, June 24, 2016. Learn more at palmcoastgov.com/government/city-clerk/elections.
