Rec league coming to PDA Florida
PDA Florida has announced a new recreational soccer program called Palm Coast Soccer, which will begin this fall for ages 4-12. Palm Coast Soccer functions under the guidance of professional coaches who provide support and direction to parent coaches.

All practices and games will be played at Indian Trails Sports Complex.

The Palm Coast Soccer recreational program also provides a unique opportunity for the talented and motivated players to progress into the PDA programs. 

To kick off PDA Florida’s new Palm Coast Soccer recreational program, there will be a free clinic June 1, at the Indian Trails Sports Complex, for boys and girls ages 4-12.

To participate in the clinic, register online in advance by going to www.pdaflorida.org, where you can create an account and sign up.

The schedule is as follows: ages 4-6, 8:30-10:30 a.m.; ages 7-12, 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Interested players are not required to attend the clinic to participate in the U6 to U12 recreational program. To enroll, go to www.pdaflorida.org.

Palm Coast tennis player wins USTA event
Karina Dergunova, who attends Imagine School at Town Center, won the 10-and-under USTA Super Series tennis event, in Jacksonville.

Dergunova, 9, is coached by Michael Ouvarov. She had a first-round bye.

Dergunova won her quarterfinals match in two sets, 4-0 and 4-0. In the semifinals, she won again in two sets (4-0 and 4-1) to reach the finals. The finals were a little tougher than the first two matches, but Dergunova won on two sets, 4-3 and 4-2, to win the event.

Heat, Starters win Adult Ed league
The Palm Coast Heat and the Palm Coast Starters won the middle school and high school leagues, respectively, of the Flagler Adulty Community and Education youth basketball league.

The season lasted 10 weeks, and games were played at Indian Trails Middle School.

The Heat was coached by Carlos Matos, and the Starters were coached by Gary McDaniel.
